If you’re here then it’s probably because you’re interested in hearing more about joining the Maker Directory for the #MarchMeetTheMaker challenge 2021!
As a quick recap, #MarchMeetTheMaker was created by Joanne Hawker and has had a whopping 594k posts on the hashtag since its creation in 2016. The challenge is popular amongst designers, makers and small business owners and encourages them to talk about different aspects of their business. The challenge reaches a wide number of people over various different crafts and professions, all at different stages of their small business.
So, what is the Maker Directory?
- The directory is a section on the official #MarchMeetTheMaker website saved to showcase a variety of makers who are taking part in the 2021 challenge.
- The directory features 9 different categories. These are: ceramics, craft kits & supplies, homeware, jewellery and accessories, pins, print & illustration, textiles, things for children and 'more of the good stuff'. The good stuff category is for anyone who feels like they don't fit into any of the other categories.
- Within each category, there is room for just 9 makers to promote their small businesses. Each maker will have a space for an image, their Instagram handle (so people can follow you) 100 characters to describe their business and a link of your choice (etsy, your online shop, or where ever you sell your makes or services!)
- Makers are placed within the categories on a first come first served basis.
Why have you made the directory?
The #MarchMeetTheMaker website receives a lot of traffic a few weeks before, during and after the challenge. So I thought it would be nice to try and share that with other small businesses! I can't personally guarantee that everyone will click through but it's a good chance to be seen by others who are interested in everything hand made!
What will I need from you?
In order to complete the Makers Directory page by prompt launch (the busiest time for the website!) I will need all of the content from you by no later than the 12th February 2021. To make it easier for you, I have put boxes on this page for you to fill in the text needed for each part of the directory listing. Once purchased, please email an image to represent your business that works well in both square and portrait to email@example.com with your order number and business name! Please ensure that the image is 1000px square minimum. Please note that some of the images may require cropping so ensure that no important bits are too close to the edge!
Please note that only 9 slots are available for each category and that I am unable to hold or reserve them. They are sold on a first come first served basis. Once that category is full, I will not be able to add anyone else. Please only select the category that is relevant to what you make. This directory page will remain on the #MarchMeetTheMaker website for a minimum of 6 months but it's usually up for around a year!
Important to know:
Adding this listing to your basket does not 'reserve' it for you. The only way to reserve a space is to check out your basket.
If you change your mind and wish to cancel your order, please let me know before the 8th February so that I can offer your place to another maker. Please note that after this time I will not be able to offer you a refund.
Thank you so much for your interest in joining the Maker Directory! I look forward to welcoming you!
